Blog 5 - Free Topic

Hello everyone! In this blog, which is a free theme, I would like to tell you about the city where I grew up: San Antonio.

When I entered university here in Santiago, in 2022, it was the first time I had to move away from my home and my city.

I have lived all my life, or almost all my life, in San Antonio, a commune and coastal city in the Valparaiso Region (V region).

In San Antonio there is a large port that transports a lot of cargo on a daily basis, in fact it is the most important port in the whole country. Close to the port is the Paseo Bellamar, where you can stroll, eat churros and go boating.

But this is not the only thing that characterizes this city. From Algarrobo to Santo Domingo, including San Antonio, they are known as the Litoral de los Poetas. Because the poets Pablo Neruda, Nicanor Parra and Vicente Huidobro lived here.

"La negra Ester", the famous musical play by Roberto Parra, takes place in the streets of Puerto de San Antonio.

What I like most about this city is that being small, it is quick to go from one place to another, unlike here in the capital. Also living near the beach and the sea is great. Being able to go out for a coffee when you feel like getting out of the routine is the best thing, I think that's what I miss the most. That's why I like to travel often, to breathe the sea air and, of course, to see my family there.
